Running a small business can be stressful, with long working hours managing paperwork, finances and many other demands. Over time, this can affect your mental health.

The ATO have been working with mental health support services, small business owners and their representatives to develop support for those impacted by mental health issues.

If you’re experiencing mental health issues and struggling to meet your tax and super commitments, contact them – they can work with you to solve the problem before it escalates. You can speak with them directly, or you can nominate someone to talk to them on your behalf.

They can help by:

  • arranging a tailored payment plan
  • deferring your lodgments or payments.
